Mr. Leo Riera

Chief Executive Officer

Leonardo Riera is a Business Development professional with over 30 years of experience as CEO, Investment Banker, and Strategic Consultant. Mr. Riera worked as Country Head for Bankers Trust Co. for 10 years, as a Management Consultant with McKinsey & Co, and as Director of Asset Structuring for a $2.1 Bn Emerging Markets Fund. He was elected to the Venezuelan Congress in 1997, and served in the prestigious Finance Commission of the House. He has served in various boards, including Technology, Mining, and Financial Services concerns. Mr. Riera has acted as CEO of junior mining companies with operations in Brazil and in Peru. Mr. Riera has an excellent network of relationships in Emerging Markets. He is an Economist, and holds an MBA degree from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Bary Wilson

Chief Technology Officer / Director

Dr. Wilson is  an experienced scientist and executive with a track record in fossil energy, renewable energy, and gasification. Dr. Wilson  served as a senior scientist and project manager at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and has been a founder or co-founder of successful technology companies in the US and overseas. He  holds more than 20 issued or pending patents, many in the area of clean energy, and is author of more than 100 scientific papers and several books. He holds a B.Sc. in Physics from the University of Washington, a Ph.D. from the University of London, and served a post doc in Chemistry at MIT.  Dr. Wilson served in the United States Marine Corps and holds a commercial pilot's license, both of which provided him with practical experience on both combustion gas turbine and large displacement reciprocating engines. 

Dr. Barry Liss

Chief Engineer

Dr. Barry Liss (Ph.D., PE) is an internationally recognized expert in the design of Gasification systems for coal and waste, compost plants, odor treatment systems, and leachate treatment systems. Dr. Liss holds a PhD from the City University of New York, did post doctoral work at CUNY's Clean Fuels Institute on fluidized bed gasification, authored three U.S. patents on high temperature fluid bed processing and has designed waste gasification systems for more than 20 projects in the US and overseas.

 

Dr. Michael Gluckman 

Member of the Board of Directors

Dr. Michael Gluckman, PhD, has over 30 years of experience in the electric power generation business. This experience includes research; development; pilot and demonstration plant design, financing, construction and operation of world scale power plants (50MW to 600MW). Dr. Gluckman was Senior Vice President Corporate Development of Orion Power Holdings, which owned and operated over 6,000 MW of generating capacity in New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Before joining Orion, He was the founder, President and CEO of Columbia Electric Corporation, which owned interests in four operating gas-fired combined-cycle power plants totaling 790 MW. Dr. Gluckman spent 17 years with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) in a variety of capacities including Technical Director, Engineering and Economic Evaluations and Director, Integrated Energy Systems Division. Dr. Gluckman also played a major role in the development and implementation of the successful 110 MW Cool Water Coal Gasification Combined Cycle Power Project in Barstow, California. He has published more than 50 technical papers relating to the subject of power.

 

Gen. Wesley Clark  

Chairman, Board of Advisors 

 

General Clark is a highly decorated, retired four-star general and successful businessman. He has received numerous military decorations, several honorary knighthoods, and a Presidential Medal of Freedom. From 1997 to 2000, General Clark became widely recognized in his role commanding Operation Allied Force during the Kosovo War, where he was designated the Supreme Allied Commander Europe for NATO. General Clark graduated valedictorian at West Point and received a Rhodes Scholarship to the University of Oxford.

 

 

LTC Fredrick Moll (Retired)

Director of Government and International Business Development

Colonel Moll's primary role is international business development from the capture planning phase through proposal development and contract award. He also serves as the corporate advisor on US defense acquisition policy and procedures. Mr. Moll served for 22 years in the US Army with a background in acquisition management. He holds a BS in Economics from Widener University and a MS in Management from the University of Utah. His civilian career includes being a Project Manager and regional director of business development in Turkey for General Dynamics Corp.

   

Dr. Brandon Wilson

Director of Research

Dr. Brandon Wilson holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering, and is one of the inventors of the ATEC coal fly ash to energy technology and other key patents held by EnviroPower Renewable.. ATEC technology introduced the use of a high temperature sintering kiln as a means of recovering energy from fixed carbon in the ash from coal combustion units, incinerators and lower temperature gasifiers. Dr. Wilson was  formerly in charge of the SEM and high temperature process facilities at the University of Washington.  He has expertise in the high temperature processing of oxide materials. Dr. Wilson also develops proprietary engineering design software for EPR.

 

 

 

Mr. Keith Hulbert

Chief Operating Officer 

Keith Hulbert (B.S., MBA) is a 20-year veteran in the management of thermal power generation facilities for utility companies, mostly with Florida Power. Among his accomplishments as the top executive in an electrical power utility has been the construction and operation of a 500MW coal/RDF co-fired thermal power plant in central Florida, giving him direct experience with commercial scale generation systems that use MSW as fuel. Mr. Hulbert is our partner and the General Manager of the Gortadroma, Ireland 36 MW gasification WTE project.

 

Mr. Luis Feliu 

Chief Financial Officer / Director

Mr. Feliu is Certified Public Accountant (District of Columbia, Florida) and an MBA, with more than 30 years of experience as CFO, Comptroller and Auditor of numerous corporations in North and South America. His career includes credit positions at Irving Trust, as Internal Auditor for Union Planters Bank, as Comptroller for Smartmatic Corporation, and as CFO for Patagon.com/Lemon Bank, Textil Algodonera in Peru, Wilson Manifolds, and Ardent Mines, Ltd. Mr. Feliu obtained his undergraduate degree in Statistical Economics and Accounting from Universidad de Chile, and his Masters in Business Administration from George Washington University.
